CHRISSY AKA CRYSTAL

Chrissy came to Annie's Angels from Monroe County Animal Shelter on 6/09/09. Her left rear foot had been shot off and she was completely emaciated, weighing only 35.8 lbs. She also tested positive for heartworms but shows no clinical signs of them. Monroe County Animal Control is in the process of trying to prosecute that person that shot and neglected Crystal. In the past week Chrissy has gained 2 1/2 lbs. Despite everything that she has had to deal with she is the sweetest little girl ever. She gets along great with other dogs but is nervous around too many. She is nervous around new people but when she gets to know you, you will be covered in kisses. She loves to chase tennis balls and run.

As of right now, the plan of action for Chrissy is to put some weight on her, have the rest of the leg amputated as it is just long enough to where it drags the ground and bleeds. At that time she will be spayed. Two weeks after the leg amputation she will receive her first of three heartworm treatments.

UPDATE 6/29/09: Chrissy had gained another 4 lbs and is up to 42.5 lbs!!!!
