I am reaching out on behalf on my husband Garett, who I would move mountains for. At just 40 years old he has been through so much but refuses to give up! He was medically discharged from the Marines when he was 18, and life started to spiral from there.
When I first met Garett in 2008, he was able to walk, but had some issues, and as the years went by he needed the help of a cane, then two canes, and now has become completely wheelchair bound. In 2014 he was officially diagnosed with Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy which changed our lives forever. This progressive disease has slowly taken away his ability to walk
and even lift himself up. It’s heartbreaking to see the toll this disease takes on him.
As if this life changing illness was not enough, he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2017. It has been one battle after another for him, and I will move mountings to help remove barriers for him. This wheelchair van would be life changing because he would no longer feel like a prisoner in his own
house, we could go out together, and more importantly he could get to doctors’ appointments. This van would help give him some independence back, and his zest for life back!
