In 2018 I had a seizure which led to the diagnosis of a brain tumor. The tumor was surgically removed which we thought was the end of our story. Unfortunately, that was just the beginning.
The tumor grew back in 2021 weeks after getting married. I underwent a second operation and was put on an oral chemo medication. In May of 2022 we closed on our first house and finally felt like we were moving forward. After a year of the oral chemo the doctors thought it would be safe to stop the medication. Months after closing on our house we were told the tumor was growing back.
I just underwent a third brain surgery. This time we are following the surgery with 6 weeks of radiation. I am expected to be out of work until at least January. My husband has also had to take substantial time off to help me during recovery. With all of this happening soon after buying our first home this has put a
