Zack Weinberger 5K Roll & Stroll
Zack Weinberger is an 18-year-old who suffers from a rare form of Epilepsy called Lafora disease. It’s a terminal, progressive form of epilepsy that has, to date stripped him of his ability to walk, speak, feed himself and overall care for himself. He suffers daily from grand mal, absence, drop and nearly constant myoclonic (ticking) seizures. The disease is so rare that only about 200 cases in the world have ever been diagnosed.

Locals Support for Myla
Thanks to everyone who came out to our Support for Myla fundraiser at Locals Restaurant and Pub in North Hampton. Everyone enjoyed the live music and raffle as well as the pub fair and of course the ice cold beer! It was a successful night and even Myla made an appearance!

On Wednesday January 28, 2009 Myla Gott was driving home from the gym and got into a serious car accident, from that accident she received a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
The night of the accident she was rushed to Portsmouth Regional Hospital, the following day she was transported to Mass. General Hospital in Boston. From the accident she spend several months in a coma/vegetative state, once stabilize at Mass. General she was transferred to Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston.
In June 2009 still in a vegetative state she was then transferred to Crotched Mountain Specialty Hospital in Greenfield, NH, where she moved from the vegetative state to a more cognitive state.
In February 2011, Myla came home to continue her recovery. Upon returning home she returned to Winnacunnet High School and graduated in June 2011, with a standard diploma, that every High School student gets. She did it by answering questions to testing through people spelling to her and by doing power point. She is making tremendous gains against all odds down the road of recovery. She is aware of whats going on and she is doing a great job recovering! Her plans are to continue on with her education and attend a local college. She needs all the support she can get. Myla is a fighter and she will overcome this obstacle with all of your support..
Myla is now taking HBOT, Hyperbaric Medicine, also known as Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), in a metal chamber the pressure takes her down to the equivalency of being 16 feet below sea level while she is wearing a mask that allows for her to breath 100% pure oxygen. This therapy/medicine gives her body 15 times the penetration of oxygen intake then under normal conditions. Helping with her growing more veins in the brain, turn on or grow new neuron, and assist with her brain to obtain a better plasticity to its improvements. She is walking with one person assistant, making better use of her arms and legs. She is eating three meal a day by mouth, having her g-tube removed. She is working on talking with saying HI, DAD, YA, and NA. All of these improvements are a direct relation to her getting HBOT therapy.

The veterans at Manchester Community College are hosting Vendor Bingo on Friday March 30 from 6 pm to 10 pm in the gym at MCC. The night begins with our National Anthem performed by the Color Guard followed by a short ceremony honoring some of the veterans including Chris Journeau, the veteran who inspired our Chris' Pets for Vets program. We would love to see you there. It's a great chance to meet Jo Ann, Chris' mom and honor his memory. All proceeds from this Vendor Bingo will benefit Chris' Pets for Vets and provide FREE companion animals to current and former military.
